TechNuCom is now a member of Données Souveraines Québec. This membership reflects a conviction that already guides our technology choices: data sovereignty in Quebec and Canada is essential to our clients’ trust, the continuity of their operations, and our digital autonomy.
We are in full agreement with the Données Souveraines Québec manifesto. We support the mission of this organization, which brings together Quebec stakeholders who wish to act collectively to ensure data governance that is aligned with the laws, values, and interests of Quebec and Canada.
Take a Stand and Take Action
An organization’s data is among its most valuable assets. It encompasses its expertise, customer relationships, operations, and, often, sensitive information. Decisions regarding its storage, processing, and accessibility must be given the same attention as other strategic business decisions.
In an uncertain geopolitical context, it is essential to take a stand and translate our convictions into decisions. Every choice regarding a supplier, infrastructure, or application can either strengthen our control over information or increase our dependence. Organizations must be able to understand where their data is stored, who can access it, and how they will be able to continue their operations in the event of an incident.
Our membership in Données Souveraines Québec builds on this approach. We want to contribute to a collective effort that gives greater weight to these issues and encourages concrete choices among businesses, organizations, and public decision-makers.
A Commitment to Our Clients
As a supplier to Hydro-Québec as well as to companies and organizations in the healthcare sector, TechNuCom places particular importance on data sovereignty in Québec and Canada.
In these sectors, the confidentiality and availability of information are closely linked to the quality of services and public trust. This responsibility must be reflected in system architecture, security practices, and disaster recovery planning.
We already have a SOC 2 Type 2 environment in Quebec, supported by a backup environment in Ontario. This setup allows us to combine primary hosting in Quebec with backup capacity in another province, while keeping the data hosted within this infrastructure in Canada.
“Several years ago, we put in place an infrastructure that ensures data remains in Canada. Current geopolitical developments confirm that we made the right choice, even though it wasn’t the most cost-effective option at the time. Today, we’re dedicating the same level of effort to providing our customers with artificial intelligence models that operate 100% in Quebec.”

Sovereignty and Cybersecurity Reinforce Each Other
Our commitment builds on the insights we share on our blog.
In “Cyberattacks. Are we prepared?”, we emphasized the importance of preparing for business continuity, protecting backups, and planning for a fallback in another Canadian province. Our infrastructure puts this approach into practice.
In “Making Your ERP a Pillar of Your Cybersecurity” we also explained that protecting information requires rigorous governance: controlled access, traceable operations, documented procedures, and secure hosting.
These efforts are complementary. Data sovereignty concerns our control over data and technological dependencies. Cybersecurity helps protect that data and the systems that process it. Together, they support the resilience of organizations.
Extending This Commitment to Artificial Intelligence
The adoption of AI makes these choices even more important. Documents, requests, and information fed into a model must be part of the discussion on data sovereignty from the very start of a project.
That is why TechNuCom is working to offer its clients AI models that run entirely in Quebec. We want to enable them to automate their processes and leverage their information in an environment where they control the terms of use.
We are ready to support organizations that wish to move in this direction. Our membership in Données Souveraines Québec publicly affirms this commitment and our desire to contribute to a more autonomous, secure, and locally rooted digital ecosystem.
